5. How We Collect Your Data

We collect data directly when you register, enrol, book a tutoring session, complete an assessment, contact support, or otherwise interact with the platform. Some data is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

6. Purpose and Lawful Basis for Processing

We process your personal data to create and manage your account, deliver courses, tutoring, and certificates, track learning progress and reward points, verify certificates, provide support, communicate with you about the Academy, improve our services, and comply with legal and record-keeping obligations.

Our principal lawful bases under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 are the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in delivering and quality-assuring training, and compliance with legal obligations. We rely on your consent for optional processing such as marketing communications and for the processing of sensitive personal data, and you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

7. Cookies

Our platform uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and analyse usage so we can improve the learning experience. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function correctly as a result.

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

All third parties are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy. Learning records and certificate verification data are retained on a long-term basis so that course completion can be confirmed for learners when they need it. Other data is securely deleted or anonymised once no longer required.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse, with particular care applied to account and payment data. While we strive to safeguard your information, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
